Have you ever heard of a Raw sausage sandwich?
I was just watching David Rocco's show on Food network Canada
Today's episode is about making Hamburger,
he was in a farm where the local shares a Raw sausage sandwich with him.
They basically just break a raw sausage on a bread with a slice of cheese
(haha, yes...those raw sausage you see in the super market)
But I am sure those are very fresh and well seasoned,
After I looked up on google,
They are actually called "Cannibal Sandwich"
This way of eating started in 1890s,
similar to beef tartare,
a more familiar name,
just like seafood sashimi,
the meat has to meet a certain grade in order to be safe to serve raw
Some people believe they are more nutritional and flavourful than to be cooked
to read more info about this Raw sausage sandwich
you can find the info at The Big Apple and a simple recipe at Tattfoo

Its time to go back to the 40s on your look!
I found 2 must have for a Retro make over..
First! Of course a up do!
check out this helpful video on YouTube,,

This is how I did on my hair, I follow the tutorial steps,
except on the sides, I roll them to the back instead..
Because my hair isn't long enough to make them stay still on the top,
you can personalize your up do depends on the length of your hair.
This is a look from the back.

Secondly! another must have is a bright red lipstick..

My friend Becky and I have been waiting for this Chanel Rouge Coco #19
It is always sold out in all the stores,
Finally we scouted the last 2 at Yorkdale Mall..
Very lovely, this red lipstick makes your skin extra bright...
It gives you a super duper retro look.
Any brand will do.
For a long lasting color:
1. wear Vaseline or lip balm, let it sit for 5min, lightly wipe it off (your lips need to be very moist before wearing heavy color like red)
2. put foundation on your lips and pad with some powder
3. outline your lips with a nude color pencil, this prevent bleeding
4. lastly, wear your stunning red lipstick! (Remember to check your teeth once in a while, you don't want to look like a vampire)

Becky and I spent all day making 7 boxes of Bento!
This one is supposed to serve hot,
because we care! we have add a little instruction on the box,
telling our friends how long it should be reheat in the mircrove!
In this bento, we have egg fried rice as a base, meat ball skwers as main,
spicy dry tofu, potato cubes and soy quail eggs for sides

How to?
1- Egg fried rice
simply just 1 cup steam rice, 1 egg, chopped green onion, salt
first, heat up your pan with 1 tsp of oil,
on a med heat, beat the egg and drop it in the pan, allow the egg cover the pan evenly
then add the rice, stir
continue adding the rest of the ingredients and season the rice with salt

2- Soy quail eggs
you can also just make this dish with regular eggs,
we decided to use quail eggs because they are smaller in size
and easier to pack in a lunch box.
first of all, you need to boil the eggs in cold water, slowly bring the heat into a boil, cook for about 12-15min,
after, peel them in cold water
prepare a small sauce pan, add 1 Tsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of sugar, a pinch of all spice and 1/2 cup of water,
bring it to a boil, add all the eggs,
on a low heat with lid on, cook for 30min-45min
turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the sauce for another 15min
when the color gets on the egg it means they are ready

3- Slow cook meat balls skwer and potatos (in a fast way)
this dish is a little more complicated
lb of ground pork, add 1 egg, 1 Tsp of corn starch, 1/2 tsp salt, pinch of white pepper, pinch of all spice, 1 tsp of chopped fresh ginger,
mix all the ingridents and roll them into 1" small balls, deep fry them
let the meat ball cool on a paper towel
next you need to peel your potato and cut them into small cubes,
lightly fry them in oil
in a small sauce pan, add 1 cup cold water, 2 coves of garlic, 1 tsp sugar, 1 Tsp of oyster sauce, 1 tsp of soysauce and 1/2 tsp of corn starch,
bring the sauce into a boil add all the meat balls and potato, cook on low heat 3 min,
stir them every minute, turn off the heat and cover up with the lid for another 2min

4- Spicy dry tofu
find tough dry five spice tofu in your super market,
cut about 2 squares of them and 1 stalk of celery into strips
in a pan, add 1 tsp of oil, 1 cove of minced garlic,
when the pan is super hot, add the tofu and celery, stir until they r all coat with oil,
add 1 tsp of say sauce, 1 tsp of hot chili paste and a pinch of chicken powder,
stir and cook for 2 min

1- Sushi Onigiri
http://caroldolly.blogspot.com/2009/06/sushi-onigiri.html

2- Octopus Sausage
this is super easy to make, just cut a hot dog into 2
make 2 crosses at the flat end of the sausage,
pan fry it for 1 min,
decorate with sushi seaweed

3- Black Sesame Spinach
boil 1 bundle of spinach in water for 2min,
drop them in ice water, drain
season the spinach with 1 tsp of sesame oil and a pinch of salt
grind black sesame in magic bullet
mix the coarse sesame with 1 tsp of Japanese seaweed paste,
serve on top of the spinach

4- Korean Glass Noodle
soak the glass noodle in water until soft,

Jello + Whipped Cream = Mousse
That's a very simple formula and taste good!

I simply use 1 pack of Jello powder,
melting it in 1/2 cup hot water,
after, adding 1/2 cup cold water
Whip about 1 cup of whipping cream,
stir everything together,
using a mode layer the mousse mixture and a slice of sponge cake,
repeating 2-3 times,
let it set in the fridge until set,
then you will have a nice simple mousse cake!

I made this Poker Birthday Cake for my friend Marka,
we play poker together all the time and this is where the idea came from,
I basically just print the card symbol from Internet,
and using a wax paper to trace them!
The party got very exciting after he blew on the candle!
Because we had a big surprise for him...

Marka likes almost everything,
but we know what he loves is only one thing!
That's right, his girlfriend in Japan,
we had 24 hrs to contact her,
so we stole her email address while Marka was in the restroom,
then contact her and asked her to record a video!
Awww, it was very sweet, she is very shy
but she sent it right at the time when we brought the cake out
I hope Marka had a happy wonderful Birthday Party!
